COVID-19 Testing & Services

Mobile Med can provide several testing options for COVID-19 infections

COVID-19 Antibody Test Prescription: $50

The antibody test can determine if you have already had a COVID-19 infection and have developed antibodies in response to recovering from the virus.

Conducted only through a telehealth call, Mobile Med will review any prior symptoms you experienced, and if appropriate, will write a prescription for you to complete a COVID-19 antibody test at a Quest Diagnostics laboratory testing facility.  The patient will be responsible for scheduling their own appointment with the laboratory to have their blood drawn.

Please note: This test option cannot rule out a current COVID-19 infection.  It is only available if you've already experienced (but are no longer having) symptoms of an active infection.

Perscriptions for each additional household member: $50

*You can request an antibody test without a prescription on the QUEST website ($130) but the test will NOT be covered by insurance.   If a Mobile Med provider order/prescribes the COVID-19 test, QUEST will submit the bill to your insurance.  At this time we do not know insurance reimbursement rates, but insurance companies have stated COVID-related testing costs will be covered by most insurance plans.

Active Symptoms COVID-19 & Antibody Test: $100

These tests can determine if you are currently experiencing a COVID-19 infection.  Please be aware there are a considerable number of people who have experienced an asymptomatic infection, meaning some patients have experienced very mild (or even no) symptoms.  The COVID-19 nasal swab is meant to determine active infections, while the antibody test should determine if you have already had a COVID-19 infection and have developed antibodies in response to recovering from the virus.

Available only through a house call, Mobile Med will conduct a nasal swab to determine if you are having an active COVID-19 infection, as well as draw a blood sample to conduct an antibody presence test.   Mobile Med will deliver the blood sample to a Quest Diagnostic laboratory testing facility for analysis.  It will take 3-4 days for testing to be completed, but Mobile Med will follow up with you to explain testing results and recommendations.

The Mobile Med provider will arrive wearing personal protective equipment and will provide you with instructions on how to minimize risk for you and your family.

Active COVID-19 & Antibody tests for each additional household member: $50

Additional Information:

The antibody test from Quest Diagnostics has been given emergency approval from the FDA.  At this time the FDA has not fully approved the test.

If testing determines you have an active COVID-19 infection Mobile Med will provide the results to the Center for Disease Control on your behalf.

Mobile Med can provide proof of testing results if requested by your employer.

The results of this test should not be used solely to alter your social distancing practices, federal and state guidelines should still be followed.  Further scientific studies are needed before we can determine the degree of immunity and the duration of protection.

Please contact a Mobile Med provider if you have any questions.
